1. What do you guys do during periods of intense study so as to not burn-out without totally distracting yourself (SDN is not a good answer 😉)? I personally prefer not to study straight for periods longer than 50 minutes because after that my efficiency comes down a lot, however, certain activities, like the aformentioned keep me away longer than I usually plan...

2. any good/fun/quick/relaxing online games anyone?

err... sorry this was supposed to be in the Pre-allo board... eh... I guess you guys can answer too.. 😉

Lately I bust out a song or two on Guitar Hero and then unplug the system to make it less tempting afterwards. Expert Trogdor...You will be mine, oh yes....you will be mine.

Right now I go downstairs, grab a beer and watch reruns of Days of our Lives. In July I'm moving into a new house with it's own swimming pool and jaccuzzi. After that I'll be grabbing a beer, hitting "start" on the gas grill and lunging around in my floating recliner :hardy:.

I either watch an educational show (something on discovery health) or I watch something totally trashy. This weekend I watched reruns of The Biggest Loser on the style network. One of my favorites though on Discovery is "I shouldn't be alive". I haven't seen it in a while. I love survival stories or untold stories from the ER is another favorite.

Besides TV, I will meet up with a friend for a meal, art opening, or a walk. Or, I'll call someone and talk for a while. After all that time alone with books I need some human contact. When I get back from being out I'm just more energized to get some work done and become more efficient.

In the past I've done all of these photo albums or various arts/crafts projects to procrastinate from studying. I find that exam time is also when I get most of my other "chores" or hobbies done because I'm using them to procrastinate so much. Sometimes I find myself reorganizing everything in my room. 😉

watch some silly goofy reality tv show (usually gives me at least a good giggle 🙂 )
play one of the two nintendos in the house (either the gamecube or the wii)
do a sudoko puzzle
work on a needlepoint or craft project for a limited amount of time

and of course my personal favorite...
play with the kiddos 🙂

forums.studentdoctor.net is the best mid study activity of course... 🙂 this website is the reason I'm not going to get rads onc at mass general... well, ok, maybe not the ONLY reason

What happened to the one where you could smack penguins around on the ice??
