As we are in the process of applying to medical school, or preparing for it, we've run into many medical ethics questions. A very common scenario that comes up is a parent(s) that chooses to withhold available medical treatment to a child due to a faith practice.

I don't normally watch Family Guy, but I happened to watch this episode, and thought it was entertaining and relevant to the topic... even though if this was a real situation, it should have been handled differently.

Anyways, enjoy... 🙂

why are you so amazing?

haha I love family guy

:01 I see the Oregon Trail! I killed off so many family members in that game, because of course, I named them all after my siblings and parents.

Meh, I think family guy has lost most of its appeal (Futurama/American Dad ftw). On the topic of Christian Science, is it actually legal to actually do that to a child?

No one from Loma Linda watch the video. There's a 7th day adventist zinger in there. Spare yourself!
I think this was the best part of the episode, honestly, that and Peter's Harry Potter schtick.

To be completely honest, I got bored halfway through and decided to watch the latest episode of Bones instead.

Now it's time for Parks and Rec!

Meh, I'm in an undergrad affiliated with SDA, but it seemed like they were just making fun of Christians overall (about how they react when they hear you're SDA).
I thought it was pretty funny. 🙂

I prefer this one about test results from the doc:

Yes, it's not like the 7th day Adventist founders predicted the exact date of Christ's return like a bunch of *****s.

"Poor William Miller in 1843. Miller (whom I take to have been an honest fanatic) dated the Second Coming to the year, the day, and the very minute. A timely comet fostered the delusion. Thousands waited for the Lord a midnight on March 21st and went home to late breakfast on the 22nd followed by the jeers of a drunkard." --C. S. Lewis, from The World's Last Night (1)

,Terrible theology abounds among the general public. I stopped watching family Guy after that blatant idiocy by Seth Macfarlene. If you're gonna bash religion then know what the hell you're talking about.
