Hey guys,

So for the last question on MU-COMs secondary, the applicant is asked to write any other information the admissions committee should about know them when considering the individual for acceptance. I had a the crazy idea of discussing religion. I am not overly religious and I wanted to stress that I appreciate the multi cultural and sensitivity training towards other faiths that they offer at their school, regardless of my faith. I am unsure whether this is a good idea or not. Any feedback you guys can given would be greatly appreciated. I was planning on posting the rough draft but I cannot access the file while at work. Thanks in advance!!

Well this is a medical college associated with a Roman Catholic university so I think it could help 🙂

Yeah I felt that since religion was a pretty big part of their school I should address it but had some reservations. Thanks for the advice!

I think you should lose it [/badjoke]

I don't think it's a bad thing if it contributes to the narrative of your response. I talked about my spiritual experiences working with Campus Ministry at my school. Just make sure you come off as genuine and not like someone looking for brownie points.

Yeah, thanks. It's definitely not brownie points I have long thought that a lot of issues this country faces are due to misunderstanding and a lack of appreciation of diversity, including religious ignorance. I just wanted to touch on it and say that their multi cultural and sensitivity training is something that I feel is important to providing adequate care and aligns with my values of better understanding those around us. Hopefully I can articulate that, lol, thanks for the response.

I think that was well articulated. Maybe have an example of cultural sensitivity in case they ask you what you mean during the interview. Giving the right lofty answer is good, but connecting it to a real world scenerio is better.

It will be fine to do that.
