Have you even talked to your current district pharmacy supervisor yet? That is step one really. Basically, you need a district that will take you. If you have a way connect to a supervisor in Texas, which I assume is where you are going, then you might limit your current supervisor's involvement. But it kind of helps, like a lot, if your current guy introduces you to someone there. Most of the 'paperwork' is done by the incoming district. If you are trying to limit your off work time, then yes, you bridge it with PTO/vacation etc.
Edit... The only time that I heard of relocation expenses covered is when CVS was trying to 'fix' DC area and recruited some of their pharmacists to move. I don't know the details but I think they paid some expenses. But unless you are moving in high demand area in TX, I doubt that will happen for you.
