I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but it sounds like the Army's issues with AHLTA aren't specific to medicine. The similarities between this story and the story of AHLTA are just depressing.

You know that SAIC is also the company that originally developed AHLTA (and lost the contract for maintenance, for a while at least, to Northrup Grumman IIRC). They also have periodically lost military members' sensitive information (SSNs, etc) via stolen laptops. High quality company there.
