Just letting you guys on the BU waitlist that my "top" BU waitlist position is now open. I was told that I was on the "top" (i'm guessing part of the top spots...not top) of their waitlist.

Good luck to those waiting for BU. I also asked them if any changes have been made yet, but they said no. However, I was told that people have withdrawn their acceptances and opened up some spots. So, maybe we'll see some people get accepted there.

So, now I'm going to Tufts. They accepted me last week on Monday...and I got the letter on Friday. See TUSDM D07 this fall!

Now to find a place to live. Anybody need a roommate and willing to deal with a 10 year old Pomeranian? I'm laid back, clean/organized, socialable, fun, studious, and all that good stuff.

😀

BTW....I'll be up in Boston this Wednesday (July 23) to look at apartments in the Medford, Malden, Somerville, Everett areas.

Hi..

I am sure you know that I am on BU waitlist and I was wondering how you found out that you are on their "top" list....did you talk to Mrs. Balzano?

Last time I heard from them they said "there has been no changes" and "no spots open" so I hope something will change soon.

Congrats on your acceptance!!
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I was told by Dr. Shaw that I was at the top...(whereas I'm thinking more like near it) right after my interview.

I also called today, and they told me this...

Me: "Have any changes been made to the waitlist?"
Admissions: "Not yet"

Me: "Has anyone withdrawn from their initial acceptance to BU?"
Admissions: "Yes, some have, but we haven't accepted anyone from the waitlist yet."

Then I requested to have myself removed from their waitlist.

Hopeful...hang in there. You still have about a month till orientation starts, so just be persistant. However, not to make things seem grim...but you may want to prepare you next cycle's application online now. The sooner you get things sent out, the sooner you'll get interviews (and show your interest in this profession). Just wait till at least August 15th to send them out.

BU starts in two weeks, 8/4.

I seriously appreciate all the positive feedback.....I am certain that classes start August 4th... so I don't know what to think...I already re-applied and I am # 490 ADSAS...so hopefully if not this year next year...Drpheta....thanks for your help and I wish you all the best...you give me hope!

Wow, with your classes starting so early, when is BUs orientation?

Hi,
Classes begin August 11th but orientation begins on the 4th.

hopeful girl

I also just got accepted to Tufts last week adn I just removed my name from the waitlist at BU. So there you go you have two spots open now....I also know a few of my friends who got into other schools and removed their names from the waitlist at BU.

I also suggest you talk to BU, especially Catherine Frankl/Dr. Shaw and they should be able to help you out. Get yourself known to them, so even if you were to apply again they'll pull your application and help you out next year.

Looking forward to meeting you at orientation....did you recieve anything from tufts as far as schedule is concerned. I ordered my lab coat and asked them to send me all the packets that werent sent out to me. I am looking forward to starting school.

I read your car/housing question.....I have lived in Boston for two years now and I personally suggest that keep your caR at home. B/c street or garage parking near school is really expensive and even if you were to keep your car at the apartment, it would be about 200-300 $$'s a month. Plus, the T's are so frequent and convinient, it makes getting around really easy.

Let me know if you have any other questions about living in Boston or School, coz seems like we are both in the same boat....(not housing though...I have an apt)...I'll keep an eye out if anyone needs a roomamte. Cheers!!

Cony,

Yeah, I know about the hell that traffic causes with cars. I'm not bringing it to commute to school. My car is for me to get to Jersey every so often...also to haul whatever food/groceries I stock up on at a Costco, Super Wal Mart, etc. etc.

I already found an apt...so no need for me to get a roomie anymore.

And I haven't received any updated packets from Tufts. It's no big deal really. I'm just curious as to when we start class and when we finish.

Lookin at a 30-40 min commute everyday on the T. That monthly pass is probably the best 57 bucks anyone can spend while living in Boston.

DrPheta,
I live in NY but go to BU. I just wanted to let you know that there's a couple bus companies in Boston's Chinatown that has services to NYC. They only charge 10 bucks each way so if you're only bringing your car so you go to Jersey this is another good option. You can take the PATH or go to Port Authority and take a bus from there.

drpheta,

Classes start on the 2nd of sept. Orientation starts on the 26th.
