If you indicate that a letter is "no longer being sent," schools would be notified not to expect it, but if it shows up at AMCAS later anyway, it will automatically be sent out to any school that you marked to receive it initially.I'm doing an organizing internship right now, and my leader told me she would write me a rec letter a few weeks ago. But the internship hasn't ended yet, and I'm pretty sure she meant she'll write it when the internship is over. Without thinking, I went to AMCAS and added her as a letter writer, thinking I'll upload the letter through interfolio whenever I receive it since I already had 4 letters. But now even though I submitted some of the secondaries, my application looks incomplete. I know I have the option to "not send the letter" on AMCAS to avoid getting reviewed late, but I was wondering if I can send it when it's ready?
Be aware: there is the potential if a letter shows up after your file is considered Complete at a school that you could moved to the bottom of the Ready for Review pile.
