My wife actually exhibited a lot of problems with her eyes after we were overseas and she purchased/used ReNu solution. We didn't hear about the recall until we came back to the states, but in our research we found a very interesting article here--

The quote that startled me the most was, " Dr. Chu of NJ, a specialist in corneal diseases, phoned Bausch & Lomb back in March to alert them to the fact that three of his patients were suffering from a dangerous microbe and that all three were Bausch & Lomb customers. "
In short, this was preventable. Thankfully, Agnes is completely recovered but I feel horrible for the folks that have permanent corneal damage.
As future doctors, I implore you to take a vested interest in your patient's health.
