I am a music minor and there is this orchestra class that you can take repeatedly so all the accumulated credits count toward my minor. My school accounts for all the credits when calculating GPA. Is it the same way on AMCAS?

Okay, I can't phrase the question properly, so here is the situation.

Fall 2007 Music 347 (Grade B)
Fall 2008 Music 347 (Grade A)
Fall 2010 Music 347 (Grade A)

What do I do? How does AMCAS calculate my GPA in this case?

Thanks!

You include every attempt of every course you have ever taken on your application. AMCAS will calculate your GPA including all of them, even repeat attempts of the same course. Each of those courses will count toward your GPA, meaning if the class was worth 3 credit hours, you will have 6 credit hours of a 4.0 and 3 credit hours of a 3.0 averaged into your GPA.

The same would be true if you had gotten a D in chem the first time, and re-took it for an A. Every attempt counts.

Yep. Basically you have 9 credits of (2/3 A and 1/3 B). List it as you would anything else...like it is 3 different classes.

Good luck.
