For courses that I repeated on AMCAS, do I check the "Repeat" box for both instances of the course, or just the second one?

If it's both instances, do I do the same thing for AP courses from high school that I repeated in college? Because when I check the "Repeat" box for those, it gives me a warning includes " If the original grade is not entered, AMCAS will return your application to you to enter the original grade."

Pretty sure you put repeat after the second and thereafter. The warning is just to remind you that if you don't put in the original course, AMCAS may take longer to verify or at worst bounce back and force you to correct it and resubmit.

AP courses taken in college do not count as repeat courses. For most institutions, retaking the course waives your corresponding AP credits. In terms of actual course retaking because of bad grades or other reasons, only select "retake" for the second and additional times you have retaken the course.

Yes they do. From the AMCAS Instruction Manual:

"If you take a college level course for which you already have been granted AP credit by the same institution, this course is considered a Repeat. For example, if you received AP credit for your AP Psychology course and took an Introduction to Psychology course at the same undergraduate instution, you should list Introduction to Psychology as a Repeat."

But if you came to college with AP psych credit , and then decided to take PSY 101 in college, wouldn't your AP credit get waived? You would no longer have credit from the AP psych test and thus taking PSY 101 in college would not count as repeat. The AMCAS manual seems to be saying that if you have credit for both AP Psych AND the Intro Psych class (which most colleges don't allow), then you must mark it as repeat.

Amcas will count it as repeat regardless. However as long as you list each course you should be ok even if you miss label it as repeat/ or don't
