Reporting USMLE advice DO applying MD residencies

I have usmle step 1 of 197 and step 2 221. I have average COMLEX scores. Id like a residency on the east coast, pref VA. I don't know if my step 1 score will hurt me more then my step 2 score/the fact that I passed usmles will help me.
Should I report my usmle scores? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you🙂

I'm not sure which residencies you are considering, but I would definitely report the USMLE scores. Some allopathic residency directors may not be familiar with COMLEX, but the USMLE scores are well-understood. Not reporting your USMLE scores would probably be a red flag, and you did pass both Step 1 and Step 2 CK. Your Step 2 CK score (221) is near the average for 1st time US and Canadian medical school test takers in 2010 (230), and most of those students aren't applying for Peds residencies.

Thank you for the reply twilight doc. There is a way to not report that I took the usmle at all...so it wouldnt necessarily be a red flag because program directors would just see comlex only. I'm just not sure how much that step 1 score would hurt me.
