Does anyone have any input on this course?

This is what the professor had to say..
"
About 30% of the class is human reproduction and this is the only chance you will have to feel reproductive tracts in an individual (cow etc.). In human medicine you would unlikely have a chance to feel the human tract prior to final senior year at best.

Many medical students have commented that this is the most beneficial class they took at the University."

What exactly do you mean by "feel"? Like literally palpate the reproductive tracts? If so, im sure this course would be a good idea. In my experience so far, most of my human phys/anatomy classes didnt spend much time at all on the reproductive systems. Im kind of disappointed at this.

Are you personally interested in the class? What would you be doing if you don't take it?

Yea I believe that is what he means.

I'm not interested in it as much as say Endocrinology or Neurobiology but after looking at the syllabus the stuff did seem interesting to say the least. Also, it is one of those upper level classes that have a lab component which usually helps me. The professor has high ratings as well and his comments are also pleasing. If I don't take this class, I likely would be taking General Genetics which is one of the toughest courses on campus. The professors that teach it in the fall are also the worst of the bunch. It would be ideal taking it in the spring or summer.

Are there any other classes besides this one that seem more interesting to you? The class doesn't have to be life-science/med-school related.

There are some upper level psychology courses. However, they require abnormal psych which I will be taking this fall.

I feel like he's making a joke about how y'all will be virgins until at least senior year

haha, he does have a point. If he does mean this, I definitely would want to take the course!

Hmmmm, how is your research going if you are doing any? I know of some classes that can give you a leg-up in the research game if you are interested in.

I am now a junior, and I have been taking research for credit since freshman year. I am doing research in Neuroendocrinology. I should get published by next summer as well. But what classes can you recommend? Also, if you can recommend any overall classes, it would also be helpful. Thanks! @The Cheat

Hmmm. I was going nowhere with my research endeavors entering my junior year so I took an intro CS class which taught me Java and how to learn any modern computer language. You don't seem to have the same problem I did with going nowhere in research, but knowing how to code does open the door to many interesting research projects.

Ah. @efle vs @ElCapone. Battle of the southerness.:clap:
