In response to your questions.

1. The resume should contain the following information at the very least.

A. Your name, address, phone and email
B. Dental Education and any other degrees you may have
C.Work Experience
D. Awards / Accomplishments
E. Exams ( if you have taken NDBE or other such exams)

2. As an example: University of the Pacific has a template of what the certification of finances looks like. You can save this document and modify it according to your needs. The web site is

http://www.dental.uop.edu/admissions1/IDS/application_form/2003-2004_app_form.doc

3. Conversion of transcripts can be obtained through ECE. Their web site is
http://www.ece.org

or call them at 414-289-3400 or email them at [email protected]

Thanks Helper.

I visited the link you posted, and I noted something on the UOP application, it says:

"Financial aid is not available to international students. If you plan on attending the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry (UOP) in F-1 or J-1 status, you must anticipate paying full fees for the duration of your program of study."

Does that means that such university won't help with private loans to non-green card holders?

When your wife was in the process, did she ran into this?

thanks.

As far as financial aid is concerned for foreign graduates applying into Advanced Standing Programs, most students end up obtaining private loans from banks. If you are not a citizen or green card holder, you are not eligible for financial aid such as Stafford loans and the like obtained from the school. You will instead need to get a private loan with a cosigner from a bank such as Bank One / Sallie Mae or Citibank.
I have provided details in an earlier post under loans for international students.

You would need to call the school and ask if they have a contact person at the school who assists in getting all the necessary paperwork you will need to get a private loan from a bank. A bank requires certification of finances from the school which is basically the school's way of saying what it costs to go to school ( tuition and living expenses). The bank typically issues a loan only for the amount a school will certify, not more than that. Usually the amount a school will certify is quite sufficient for all necessary expenses.

My wife did not run into any problems with the school regarding finances because they provide lots of information on how to proceed with getting a private loan, but they don't directly help you get a loan. They provide information.

You would need to to do that yourself. What they can do is provide you a list of banks and the name of a financial counselor at the school who can provide you with more specific information.

Again, if you don't have a green card you can still get private loans as long as there is a cosigner who is a citizen or green card holder.
