I've looked through the forums and found some similar threads but I was hoping for a more specific answer as my situation is somewhat unusual.

I just got my app verified and I have only 4 english credits (1 semester). I have already graduated and taken other writing intensive courses. How should I contact the schools that have a 2 sem. engl requirement and tell them I have other writing intensive classes / I am willing to take another class prior to matriculation. Phone? e-mail? snail mail? will any of these be better than the other?

thanks in advance!

Edit: haha it appears I do need more schooling with the typo on the title

I actually have the same question sorta, I understand that you can apply without completing all your pre-eqs. But say you graduated, and you're like a bio class short for the school you really want to go. How do you let them know that you want to interview and if you get accepted to that school, you're willing to take that one bio before matriculating?

I would recommend calling the school to speak with someone personally. i have heard that calls are usually well received and u can get a quick response. good luck!

thanks, anyone have actual experience doing this with requirements?

From what I've seen, don't most schools usually just require 1 semester of english, and then allow you to replace that with writing intensive courses?

I marked it as a future class, but I hadn't graduated yet. If you're taking it through your undergrad institution, that might be an option though.

By the way, would that be Blind Willie from Hearts in Atlantis? Great book.

Yes, I did call a med school to see if one class could subsitute for another (Biochem for Orgo II) and they were very friendly- I would call because it saves the most time when you can't find it on their website.

Any updates on course information are generally done via phone, as someone mentioned. You would need to call the school(s) that require that extra semester and inform them you have taken the course or whatever. Also, you would send a transcript directly from your school to theirs (not through AMCAS).
