Reschedule an interview? Good idea?

I was just wondering if I could get a few opinions on whether or not to reschedule a medical school interview. I have an interview scheduled next month and I just found out today that my husband has a very important event on that day and I would like to be there with him.
Is it a bad idea to reschedule??
Should I only reschedule if it is an emergency?
Will it reflect poorly on me if I reschedule?
Just hoping someone may be able to help me out.

I don’t think it will reflect poorly, we are human and things come up. I’m sure this happens to them all the time. As long as the date is in the next 2 weeks you should be fine. It wouldnt hurt to ask them first when you call if it would be ok or if it is too short notice.

Don't worry about it. I have rescheduled 5 interviews so far (and was accepted at one of the schools). I doubt it has any bearing on whether or not you will be accepted.

Reschedule away. I've had to do it three times so far and they were all super nice about it. Just make sure you have a good reason ready to go. Good luck!

ive rescheduled lots of interviews. they are super nice about it and dont even ask any questions why! (but i explain it anyway)
things happen so they are very understanding! 🙂

i don't know if you mean that you have already rescheduled once or not-

but i've rescheduled at least 8 interviews because the date they gave conflicted with another interview. and no one has cared at all. then i recently interviewed at another school when i was on crutches- and they told me that i could have rescheduled 😉 so reschedule away!
