I already rescheduled my exam from January 27 to March 23 and now I'm considering pushing it back to May 30. I know this seems like a dangerous pattern of indefinitely pushing off this exam. However, I'm just finding it very difficult to stick to my study schedule during the academic semester. I generally need 2-3 days to get one day of Sn2ed's schedule completed while trying to keep up with a full courseload. I really do think I will benefit from pushing my test date back but am also completely mentally determined to make sure that this is the absolute last time I push my test date back and that when I do take it, I feel that personally I have done all I can to be able to perform the best possible for me. I also graduate May 20 so being able to draw out my study schedule to after the semester would definitely help the general anxiety/nervousness.

I am not a super strong applicant-- 3.5-6 GPA at a HYP, some public health work abroad, decent recs hopefully but not outstanding-- so I definitely know that I need to apply as early as possible.

Will I be able to be an early applicant with a May 30 test date or should I plan for May 11 instead? May 11 scares me because it's right around finals for me. April 26 is also an option but the nearest open testing site would require an overnight stay for me and my yearlong senior thesis is due the next day. Also May 30 give me over a full month's worth of extra time for prep.

Your thoughts/insights/feedback would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

I changed from 4/27 to 5/30 after confirming with my adviser that I will still be early.
Most apps get verified in early July, so you will be fine as long as you submit your primary app in June.

Submitting your AMCAS to be verified in the first day would leave your app just waiting for scores. Your scores would come back at the end of June, pretty much on the first day the AMCAS is sent to medical schools.

My advice is to not worry about the application until after your test. You can write a PS now and edit it slowly until you submit. Don't worry too much about the other things until later. Also, find out what experiences you will list on the AMCAS and decide who will be the contact for each one. Ask those people if it is okay to list them. The day after the MCAT, do as much as you can on your AMCAS.

Tl;dr don't worry about it. That test day is fine and you will still be early.
