I just graduated and I have over 6 months b/f starting dental school. I want to do dental oriented research. Do you think it's ok to contact the school that I'm going to and ask them if I can do it? Has this been done before even or can you only start doing research once you get there? I just can't find any other entry-level research jobs that I'm interested in.

Thanks

given you have no previous research/lab experience, you may be able to get a low paying job as a research "tech". these jobs pay anywhere from $8-12/hr i'm assuming.

if you have nothing else going on, it's worth a shot. i would try to find faculty webpages and see if they are advertising any lab openings. contact the faculty directly....contacting the administration is a waste of time b/c the prof. decides who he brings in, not admin.

good luck and congrats on getting into d-school. tell tufts that they forgot to invite jack bauer to interview.

jb!🙂

UF has a summer research program. It is EXACTLY what you are looking for. Perhaps Tufts has a similar program.
