I have been working in a lab at my university over the summer. This fall I signed up to do 1 credit of undergrad research in the same lab. I only signed up for 1 credit because I am only a sophomore and I can only do 12 total before I graduate, so I wanted to spread them out. Also I could not go over 18 credits anyways.

I know 1 credit is about 30 hours or so for the semester, however I am putting more time in that 1 credit because I enjoy it and I want to get ahead to publish.

I am not familiar with how the applications work so I am sorry if this is a dumb question. Am I going to be able to add that I worked over 100 hours rather than 30 on my application?
If not, should I talk to my professor to see if I can add more credit this late in the semester or take the loss?

Yes you can mention on your application as many hours as you spent regardless of how many credits you got for it. Just be sure your professor can verify those hours if asked.
