Hello,

I have been working in a BME lab for the past year. I am the lead of a 3-member undergraduate team who are working on building a model for investigating TBI. I am wondering if my experience can couple as leadership experience on the AMCAS app?

Thanks!

No, unless you're actually supervising people and/or training them.

Alright, thanks. Bummer though. I only have 2 other underwhelming ones under my belt. Secretary of a cultural group and event planner of a volunteering group. Both lasted ~3 semesters. I'm focusing on clinical hours+research so I cut those positions before last fall.

On AMCAS, you can only classify an activity as fitting into one category. That said, if you have a leadership role within an activity, that can be made evident in the description section. AMCAS reduces activities to defined categories, but many activities cross categories. One good example is clinical research where you're enrolling patients in trials and/or following their care as part of a team with a doctor in a clinical setting.
