would it matter where you get research experience from? my former TA has a research position open in her lab but her topic are roots and root nodules so i'm not sure how relevant researching with her would be. thanks!
Doing undergraduate research really helps to strengthen your resume. It shows that you can manage your time by taking a full load of classes while doing your research. At all of my interviews, I was able to talk about my research and the interviewers were really impressed.
Even though your project is not in the scope of a pharmacy project, the experience would greatly benefit you. I would advise you to look around for potential projects you could become involved with. Maybe you will find something that you like better or is more medical related than the roots project. Good luck!
it doesnt matter what type of research you do as long as you have passion for it and does it well. my undergrad research wasnt even about bio...i was part of a psych research 🙂
It's a love/hate relationship. I love research, but the time it takes out of my life is crazy. I signed up for 15 hours a week, and that would be fine and all. 20 hours a week would be fine. But I am racking up 27 hours a week doing stuff and it is beyond crazy.
Any research is better than no research. As someone mentioned, "fodder." Besides, research is a great way to get a LOR from a professor that knows you really well.
Research in a non-pharmacy related field is always better than saying, "I did nothing at all with my time." Now, if you can choose between pharmacy related research or non-pharmcy related research, pick the pharmacy related research.
oh man i had a great research experience. My professor never kept track of time, we just did our experiments. The lab was open 24 hours, and I'd be in there at 2am studying for finals (less crowded than the library...room to spread out) while running experiments.
I also have the same questions. My stats is damn terrible.
Goal - get in ANY FL schools

Research is good regardless of the topic. It shows that you know laboratory procedures and how to run experiements/ use the scientific method. And since plants are looked at continuously for everyday remedies it actually is sorta relevant!
