I qualify to complete an honors thesis this year, my senior year, but it may turn out that I do not do it. What are some of your opinions regarding this crisis? Is it crucial if I do it? What if I don't? What are some advantages/disadvantages?

You actually might want to check with the honors college. I know some schools will require students to do a honors thesis in order to graduate with honors. [My school does, and I'm in the process of writing mine.]

I don't really know if it will help with med school, but my school requires us to do it in order to graduate with latin honors...
