So for the past 11 months I have been working full time doing clinical research. This has been my first research project and I have had no other experience prior to this. Over the 11ish months, Ive gained about 1700 hours and an abstract. I know this amount of hours is generally higher than most but will the short time period make adcoms wonder if Im actually committed to research? I know some people work a couple hours a week over a couple of years and my research is more last minute but with more weekly time commitment. I do enjoy research and want to continue doing it in medical school (during M1 summer and possibly a research year) but I am concerned that my lack of experience prior to my gap year will raise some questions.
