Do you guys think D.O schools would care if you have an extensive research background with publications and a grad degree??

I think it would be a plus, but DO schools don't seem to put much emphasis on research.

They don't ask much about research at the interview. They would like to see that you have more clinical experience.
 
My interviews definitely didn't focus on my research or graduate work other than to tell me why I should think about DO/PhD. They were much much more interested in patient contact experiences.
