What's some interesting research topics? Can be from any subject, even dental!

I'm currently taking a writing course and we must come up with a topic for our final research paper (16 pages.)

This topic will be used to create an argumentative paper opposing my stance (12 pages) prior to submitting my final research paper.

Basically, I have to argue on the opposing side first, then write my research paper supporting my stance.

Since I'll be writing 28 pages on this topic, I thought I'd expand my search for an interesting topic to SDN.

Any ideas?
