Just wondering what programs may think about an applicant who's done significant recent (between 3rd and 4th yr--in my case, for a full year) research in a field unrelated to rads (i.e. basic cell bio/molecular/stem cell biology). Is this a positive? negative? neutral?

Does any kind of research, regardless of the field, help for a field like rads?
