I'm looking for information about taking an ophtho research year. Are there any websites listing positions? Also, a stipend would be necessary. If anyone has any suggestions or has prior experience in this please get back to me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You may have to contact individuals and inquire. Most people find research opportunities within their home schools. It's tough to hire new people for only one year of research; thus, it's easier to find research positions if you already know your mentor. Alternatively, you should apply for a competitive HHMI or NIH stipend for medical students. With funding, you can arrange most anything.
