Can GFunk or any others that are in the know quickly tell us if this year has been an increase or decrease amount of applicants compared to this time last year? Also are the applicants much more impressive than before?

I herd radiology this year is seeing less applicants than ever in the past few years but at the same time the amount of excellent applicants increased..

Is this the same for rad onc??

It's probably too early to tell, as we are not quite three weeks into ERAS opening.

However Wash U's website has some good historical data for the last four Rad Onc application cycles. For US Seniors (e.g. 1st time applicants from allopathic schools) the match rate is generally between 80-90% and generally a couple of dozen people go unmatched each year.

This is unlikely to change in any significant way year to year.
