I'm a rising 4th year U.S. medical student interested in ophthalmology. I know it is a competitive field to get into but I've also heard that it is not as hard recently due to lower reimbursements leading to lower applications.

My preclinical grades were excellent-almost all A's and I got >240 on step 1. My 3rd year grades have been ok, I got one c, one b, and two A's so far. Is it possible for me to land an ophthalmology position? Any help is greatly appreciated. :)
