Residency interview invites 2016

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Anyone heard from Grady? The google sheet says no but their deadline was 1/1. It's hard to believe they still haven't sent out any invites yet! It's on top of my list and now is the only program I haven't heard back 🙁

Anyone hear rejections from Montefiore Medical Center or Henry Ford Hospital? The google sheet says people got invites, but I have yet to hear anything and the applications were due over 2 weeks ago. I applied to other bigger academic centers and heard back much sooner so I'm not sure whether I should just consider those two a rejection.

Thanks!

Nope, I'm still waiting too.

Atlantic Health Systems in NJ and St Jospeh in Paterson NJ just extended and sent me interview dates did anyone else hear from any other ones in NJ?
I realize this is a bit late, but I got interview invites from Virtua Memorial last week and Kennedy the week before. Have not heard from Hackensack yet, but it looks like no one has.

Hey I just got an on site invite from them via email!! I hope you got one too! I have a feeling they're sending invites on a rolling basis.

I got a rejection a few days ago. But Good Luck!!

Has anyone heard from Hackensack in NJ? I dont see anyone getting an invite yet but they are taking forever!

I am waiting for U of R too!

Applied to 8, got 5 interviews, haven't heard any from the other 3
Got an email from them this afternoon for an interview! Unfortunately still waiting to hear from Thomas Jefferson, not too looking good for that one unfortunately!

Richmond Veterans affairs anyone?

I remember that was the one program that I never heard from, until I got a written letter much later that I wasn't selected.

Has anyone heard from UCLA? Or at least has been told when to expect a decision on the interview invitation?

I haven't heard from them yet either, but was told from the resident that they send out invited really late

Has anyone heard from usc acute care?

The fact that their deadline was 01/13 is interesting, wonder why they like to be one of the last programs to review applications! From my communications with the RPD, he did not provide any estimate on either when will we heard back or if they have at least set dates for interviews so that we can make some travel arrangement!

Just got a phone interview invite from UT Southwestern at Dallas.

Anyone heard from any of the Montana programs? (besides University of Montana)

It's been very entertaining watching our PGY-1 residents through the application/interview process this year.

"Oh wow, it's so different from this side. It's SO MUCH WORK"

"This wouldn't be so bad if this was someone's only job"

Cut places that haven't sent invites out yet a break. I know you're anxious, but most of us still have our regular jobs to do in addition to all of this residency stuff!

(I should add that we started sending out interview requests before our deadline was up, and tomorrow is our second full day of interviews. So we worked very hard to stay ahead of it all.)

Has anyone received a confirmation email from Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals, Tyler, Texas?

I know waiting so long sucks.
Let me know if you hear anything!

I didn't create this but it may be a helpful way of putting this information together.

THANK YOU!!!!
I was wondering though. Some of the schools I applied to name is on that list and they have sent out acceptance/reject letter, is it safe to say that they rejected me? This whole thing is nerve racking!!! Could it be possible that they did not get my application? Is there a way to check on Phorcas?

THANK YOU and GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!!!

I heard from a co-candidate on an interview today that Grady had sent out invites (he's got one) and apparently they are only interviewing a handful of candidates out of the zillion applications they must have received 🙁

Well I have officially heard back from all of my programs now! so happy I no longer have to feel my heart sank every time I get an email alert!! lol good luck to everyone!

Has anyone heard back from Kaiser Permanente or the Philadelphia VA?

Did anyone also receive a skype interview (~15 mins) with Glendale Adventist in CA? I know someone that received on-site interviews and was wondering why a place would offer both. Good or bad?

Hey I also got a skype interview yesterday! I'm not sure if it's good or bad, I never knew they even did skype interviews. From what I've heard it's always been onsite...

What was the point of having two matches and then the scramble? It just looks like another way to get more money from the people who are least able to afford it
I'm pretty sure there is no scramble. What is now round 2 is what used to be known as a scramble. It's just through Phorcas instead of the scramble of calls and emails that it used to be.

Unless something has changed from last year, this is not a 3 step process.

I know of someone who has an interview with Kaiser.

I got an interview offer from Philly VA

Thank you for your replies! I had asked during my rotation and was unable to see the googledoc. I just got my rejection from the Philly VA this morning. : ( I suppose I'm waiting for my rejection from Kaiser (Mid-Atlantic) now too.

I had applied to 9, interviews with 5, rejection from 3, and waiting on my last.

At mid year they explained to us that this year they added a phase 2 to the application process and they will keep the scramble

There is a change from last year where there has been an implementation of a second match followed by a scramble. It's referred to as Phase I and Phase II of the match, and there is a post-Match process ("scramble"). See the following for more info:

You can expect the post-match scramble to be much, much smaller in scale as a result of the implementation of this two-phase match. There will be fewer programs with open spots after two rounds of the match.

Has anyone gotten an interview at Mission Hospitals in Asheville? still no word on my end.

Nothing from them here either, maybe soon
I imagine it would have to be this week we hear something, just from the perspective to give them enough time to do all the interviews, but just guessing

Still waiting to hear back from:

Memorial Hermann Hospital System
Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital
Harris Health System
Virginia Hospital Center

Did anyone hear back from any of these programs?

Has anyone thought about contacting the programs that are on the list but have not heard back from them?

I heard from Phil VA...acceptance, and I heard Kaiser is taking a long time

I received an invitation to the Philly VA today after a rejection earlier this week since a spot had opened up! The major downside is that I already have an interview scheduled on the date they're offering. : (
I'm so disappointed in having to decline...
EDIT: I got the interview with the Philly VA. : )

Also, I heard back from Kaiser (Mid-Atlantic) two days ago with a rejection.

there is a scramble if there are some openings after the two matches

That's dumb.

I'm extremely surprised of how many people here recommend against contacting the RPD! That is nonsense!!! I personally contacted all the programs I applied to, all of the RPDs responded quickly wither to confirm receiving the application or to answer my questions regarding when will I hear back about an interview. Be professional and they will do the same. Keep in mind you're paying for this service and you deserve a good "customer" service.
ARE YOU SERIOUS? Your post is nonsense! You have no idea what it's like from the sites' side. Don't contact sites, they have work to do. Like their jobs outside of residency. They are not getting paid to provide you service. I just can't even, WTF?

I get it, the candidates are anxious.

I wouldn't be offended by a brief "checking in" email, but it's really not a customer service issue from the program. From phorcas, sure. But the program? No.

We did our last round of interviews yesterday, we pounded them out in just 4 big groups. Exhausted!
