Residency life questions

Hello everyone.I am new and am looking for information on residency life. I posted in another forum, but thought I'd try for responses here as well. What is the first year like in terms of calls, hours, obligations, time off, vacation allowance. I'm interested in psychiatry which I know involves 6 mo of internal med which I've heard horror stories about. Anyway, any residency stories and opinions on psych would be greatly appreciated.

sorry I don't know the answer to your questions but you should try posting (if you havn't already) on the psychiatry forum and/or on general residency issues forum.
a lot of us on this forum are brand new 3rd and 4th year students and don't necessarily know the specific details of lifestyle in a particular residency.
