Which factor is most important to you: Residency Match or Reputation of the institution. Usually a school with a great reputation has good/excellent residency match, but that isn't universally true. Also there are schools with "average" reputations with excellent residency match .

dude, quit already.

quality of babes in the affiliated undergrad. (ahem, Vandy wins)

 Seriously -- at the end of the day all the matters is that you have a job (residency) and then a real job (attending/fellowship) thus match results matter more in my opinion. No body cares about your med school if you can't match ...

what bout board scores then? where do they play into this whole thingymajig

if by reputation you mean US News ranking, then neither of these factors really matter to me.

but if by reputation you mean how past students have felt about the school, and how the institution is regarded by the community, then reptuation matters to me.

Ultimately though, going to a school just for either of those reasons is stupid. I have to be attracted by a variety of factors including curriculum, facilities, instructors, etc.
