It sounds like you've got a shot almost anywhere. Not everyone needs a 240 on step 1 to have a shot at the big leagues, and your research experience is a great trump card. A couple of good letters and you'll be taken seriously at essentially any program.

Great to hear. Do you think the Harvard progs, Hopkins, Penn, and new York programs are too much of a reach?

I mean, yes, they are a reach, but they are a reach for most people. Do they accept people with those scores? Sure, it happens.

If you're playing a research angle, with your publication history it will allow more people to overlook your steps (which aren't really THAT bad, anyway) because it will appear you are more focused on lab work.
