Which residency programs teach CA-1s for a substantial amount of time before they are on their own...some programs do 1 month, others have up to 6 months...

I definitely WANT to work my glutes off and I'm interested in work-horse programs. I'm just also into those that like to steadily introduce their CA-1s into the OR "deep end", if you will...vs. the swim-sink-and-you're-out programs. Any advice?

Why are you interested in work-horse programs? You really don't have to survive that atmosphere to become a good anesthesiologist.

Believe me, one month of 1-1 with an attending or resident is plenty. At the end of that month, you will be begging to be set free.
