Nope. Never found anything of any real use other than the "conventional wisdom" which generally can be found in the department at your medical school of the field in which you are interested. Academicians generally know who their competition is.

I don't know of anything that ranks according to goodness of training. However, here are some lists rating other criteria.

Some specialties rank their own training programs. I remember seeing an on-line opthalmology newsletter that ranks the top 5-10 ophtho residency programs annually.
Last year, I did it the old fashioned way and spoke to the chairman of the department and the residency program director.
