residency - research fellowship (ex Beechler,)

anyone interested/applied for these research fellowship? i plan on pursuing academics, but undecided on whether to do additional research years. some of these fellowships have decent setups ... additional pay during residency years, moonlight and okay salary during 1.5-2 yrs of fellowship, with chance to jumpstart a research faculty position immediately afterwards. off the top, i know mgh, columbia, and penn have 2 yr research fellowships. anyone w.past exp in them? or are interested in applying?

I had the interest until I got my first job offer as a CA-2. I would advise you ask each program you are interested in as to how they can set up research for you. Our program has the clinical scientist track that many programs have (6 months research as CA-3) and also has its own research fellowship and scholarship programs for research during or after residency.
