Taking vacation as 7 day increment and no less than that, in our 3 week vacation is a RRC rule?
My program says that its a rule and I dont find anything like that in the ACGME Website about it. Howz it going in other programs?

First I'm jealous of the whole 3 week thing. We get two.

Anyway, we can take vacation in any increments we want. I'm not aware of any RRC rule.

We have 18 days of vacation and they cannot be taken during OB, FMS rotation or peds. Therefore this leaves only 4 months we can take vacation and can only take one week at time during each rotation. The real problem is that we have to find someone to cover our own call and pay it back. If you work holiday's you can take your holiday only during this time.

I don't care for how this is set up.

So you have call even when you aren't on a hospital service month? We can't take vacation those months either, but the call coverage isn't an issue because we can only take vacation on no-call months.

Its only 2 weeks in PGY1. 3 from PGY2 on. Even for us we can take vacation in only some rotations. During these we dont take calls or work in the weekends, except if your OB patient delivers. My program is asking to take in 7 day increment for vacation which includes the weekends- that sucks.....
Anyways thanks for posting... GL
