Hottest nurses? I'm thinking maybe down Southern Cal?
Vegas?
This is a serious question and directly relevant to General Residency Issues. If I am going to do a fellowship or whatever I want hotties !

Any VA hospital. The stupid AC never works, and you're always sweating your bum off!

y ou want hotties go to a night clubs.. I hate nurses.. would never date one... i dont care how hot she was..

any pediatrics program - seriously, every hopsital i've been in, the nurses on peds are far younger and cuter, on the whole, than the nurses on general medicine floors. OB nurses are pretty good looking too in my experience, but that would require being an OB and i'd rather put an ice pick through my eye.

you kidding? Anesthesiologists get all the hot ones :meanie:

labor delivery nurses are notoriously the biggest know it all gossipy bitchy nurses.. I wouldnt give any LD nurse the time of day... i dont care how hot she was

how about hot male murses for us female residents or is that impossible?

Never dated a nurse but I heard enough stories and seen enough of them in action to never ever want to date one. (I can almost say the same about female residents. The doctor couple seems exhausting to maintain).

This is a very good point.

In my hospital the hottest nurses seem to be in LD, peds and ER. There are a smattering of hot nurses and techs in other areas of the hospital.

Nurses are bat-s**t crazy but so are most women . . . especially attractive ones.

I have known some residents that developed certain reputations that we shall say aren't the best. This gets around, and is mostly chuckled at unless they are married, then that is frowned on to say the least. The problem with dating nurses, is that even if you date someone at a different hospital in town, the word gets around about who you have dated to nurses at your residency hospital. It is mainly just an annoyance, having to answer additional non-medical questions from nurses.

Pedi ICU and ER definitely are a cut above the other places. OR nurses/CRNAs mostly are your prototypical Nurse Hatchett/Battleaxe. The fluorescent lights and sitting on your bum probably doesn't do much good for your looks either.

L&D nurses are usually a little on the chubby side from sitting up there with their People magazine eating chips and dip while the anesthesiology resident trys to harpoon the 425 pounder medicaid Spanish speaking only prego for an epidural. EMPUJE!! Empuje (Push, push.)

Truer words might never have been spoken on this message board. Now that I'm nearing 30 I think I've finally realized this fact about women. Here I thought if I kept looking I could find a hot, normal one. No dice

There were some hot nurses up in med-surg. And I've seen a few cute scrub nurses. The L&D nurses at my hospital, though, tended to be on the chunky side.

Your wife must be the exception, eh?😀

Nope, she is crazy too. Man's gotta have priorities . . . crazy, but they all are and this one is so hot . . . will you marry me?

Just remember that crazy needy and crazy high-maintenance are better spins on crazy than crazy wild and crazy bitchy. Got that?

In other words . . . a girl that whines that she needs pampering and WAY more attention than you think she should is a good catch. A girl that parties and yells a lot . . . just stay away.

Who is talking about dating them?

Hmmm....I'm not sure if this is a compliment (ie, you still have the same priorities) or an insult (ie, I'm not hot enough to be crazy).😉

My wife is crazy and great. I have learned to love her odd tendencies that all people have. Women tend to have more than men and hot women seem to have more than the not-so-attractive ones. I don't know what you look like but don't worry . . . I am sure you are crazy too. Aren't you a surgeon? They are all crazy and so are all women so you have a double whammy there. You must look like Gisele!

[Disclaimer: I wouldn't think that your ego is fragile enough to be harmed by the comments of a stranger on SDN but I hope you know that I jest and don't mean to insult you.]

I would think that any fragility of ego for Dr. Cox would have been born out a few years ago, policing the asses on SDN.

She doesn't get upset, she just clicks the "ban" button. 😛

Hysterical and frighteningly accurate!

The "power" I have here is intoxicating!

But my fragile ego took its bruising before SDN: medical school, surgery residency and fellowship.

No worries...occasionally, I get upset by the comments on strangers on SDN but I recognize the ridiculousness of it and *try* to step away from the keyboard. But I took your comments in the jest they were offered. Being a surgeon and a female probably does qualify me for being crazy to some extent, eh?

My picture is on my profile and the story about me in Feb 2007 and easily accessed..not Gisele by any means but much more attractive than my avatar (which some of the less tv savvy have actually thought was me)!

If "hawtness" and sanity are inversely proportional, then Kim is most likely a raving lunatic. Guys, you've been warned. 😛

I can't believe some ppl. actually thought your avatar was you in person. I don't watch scrubs but I def. knew that was a man with a wig!:laugh:
Now back to my original question...where can very cute hopefully soon to be female residents get some lovin' in the hospital (not w/ a pt!)?

I know, but I think they weren't familiar enough with me to know I was female, and obviously didn't watch "Scrubs" so it sorta makes sense.

Sorta.

Now back to my original question...where can very cute hopefully soon to be female residents get some lovin' in the hospital (not w/ a pt!)?

I met my ex-SO in the hospital where he was doing a visiting rotation. Best to find someone from another local program or a different specialty at your hospital for obvious proxmity reasons.

You can find some murses in the OR, ED and ICUs as well as PAs, especially on Ortho and Neurosurg.

If you have a medical school at your hospital, there are lots of research labs with PhD students, professors, etc. who might be single.

Lots of allied health people around as well...we had a cute Pharmacist who did the TPN. So keep your eyes open and ya know, sometimes patients aren't bad options (depending on what they're in for)! 😉

Are you anticipating a sex change operation?

Maybe its just me...but I find meeting new people in the hospital setting to be incredibly easy. Whether it is nurses, doctors, or other staff...there is always a whole bunch of potential SO's. Granted, I am male and cannot relate to the female perspective. Some guys may be intimidated if they were dating a doctor. Personally, I think it would be great!

in my residency program ER by far. 2nd place cardiac telemetry floor.

oops that came out wrong....i am an MS4 female who will hopefully match into a ob/gyn residency and thus be a resident....makes sense now?

I'm happily married, but will point out that the southeastern US is your destination of choice if this is really a criterion. Having said that, dont make this a criterion.

exactly which city? like i constantly hear there are 6-10 women for every dude in the atl. but i am still applying there so we will see.

Hmmm... OB/GYN residency on purpose eh... By the law of inverse sanity and hotness you must be gorgeous 😉

[disclaimer: JOKE JOKE JOKE]

Well i am babe so thanks for the compliment, and i won't comment on the sanity part right now! But really it seems that the dating pool gets smaller and smaller for single educated females, but I am not giving up😛..geez.

Yes, but only as a med student. Hotness dissipates with every passing year in Ob/Gyn residency.

why so? long hours and stress....

my guess is the directly proportional relationship between time spent in OB-GYN and b*tchiness factor. but that's probably a result of the long hours and stress, plus being around other catty females 85 hours a week probably isn't ideal either for developing a pleasant personality.

(i'm sorta joking here... i know not all ob-gyns are psycho biyatches... but plenty of them are)

Actually, I was thinking more about the huge amounts of food that L&D nurses seem to bring every day.

to that end i have to say that for the most part, ob-gyn residents and attendings are pretty decent looking in my experience. nurses too at my hospitals. i'd have to give both residents and nurses in ob-gyn my #2 hotness spot behind pediatrics. but when you include personality... well, that ranking heads rapidly southward (on the average... i'm seriously gonna get my butt kicked by a friend of mine in class who's very nice and cool and is applying for ob-gyn this year 😱).

I understood it the first time but never miss that kind of opportunity.
