Hello,

I will be attending school for pre-med this coming fall. But I have a question about med school, when I go to choose my residency do ALL medical schools have Neurosurgery as a residency? Or only certain schools?

Thanks for the help!

1. Most schools don't have a "pre-med" major so most students just chose a science major (such as Bio). Also, if you're a pharmacy student, don't you already have most of the pre-reqs done?

2. Do you understand how residency works? I would suggest reading here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Residency_(medicine) about the process.

Med schools do not have residency programs. Teaching hospitals do. And no, they do not all have neurosurgery programs.

Doing some research before you post will do wonders for you, Sir.

Of the 4913 DOs in the class of 2013, 17 (0.3%) will become neurosurgeons.

There are 11 AOA neurosurgery residencies. In the 2013 match, there were 15 AOA neurosurgery positions offered. Vcom, pcom, OUCOM, Nycom, western, ccom and MSU are the only DO schools associated with a neurosurgery residency.

In the 2013 Acgme match, 2 DO students matched Acgme neurosurgery. There were 202 acgme neurosurgery positions offered this year.

The average comlex level 1 score in 2011 for aoa neurosurgery was 580 (84th percentile) and 560 (78th percentile) on comlex level 2.

190(1%) of the 17487 USMD seniors matched Acgme neurosurgery this year.

Hello all,

I have known for awhile that I want to go into Pharmacy. I am a junior in high school with a 2.6 gpa.

Hello all,

I am a senior in high school and thought of becoming either a Pharmacist or Doctor for the past few years.

So which one is it? Are you a junior in high school, a senior in high school, or a pharmacy student?

Dude for now just worry about your premed classes - one step at a time

You should be studying for boards. Skip the premed stuff.
