If everyone would just become swingers...
Iastly, this is juicy - tell us what ends up happening.
Just had to say "juicy," didn't you?![]()
I would simply tell them that they need to change the sheets! otherwise who cares?
... I may want to switch if any spots open up...
CCF wearing you down already?
Real easy way to get them to never screw in the call room. Set up a webcam, then send the clips to all the residents. Once it gets out they'll never do it again. Putting up a sign is also the right thing to do.
start a rumor that due to concerns for substance abuse there were hidden cameras placed in the on-call rooms for the past few weeks and that the footage is being reviewed by a committee.. 🙂

This is kind of cool, but still doesn't deal with the wife and kids being taking for a ride. I assume everyone in the world minus people who think adultery is cool probably feel some sense of responsibility to tell the wife. If everyone is so sure about the banging, she needs to know.

Would I feel it's my responsibility to tell the spouse that she's married to a lowlife cheater? So it's my responsibility to get involved in someone else's marital problems. Jump right in the middle of a coworker's problems at home? Add that to the already full plate of responsibility and issues we juggle as a resident?
No. No effin' way. Not a chance.
Take him aside, tell him to stop leaving baby-batter in the call room?
Yes. That is MY problem.
As sad as the situation may be for the wife (and honestly who really knows what the extent of the problem is, if this is something new or old, if she's already got papers filed, whatever), it's nobody's business to be an adult tattle tale. If you're personal friends (as I think the poster said he/she might be) with the spouse, then you might think about approaching her, but even then, I'd tread lightly. The cheater will get burned in the end. No need to burn yourself in the process.
BTW...you're a puss.
Not sure who else to ask about this, as the other residents in my program who know aren't sure what to do either...
We have two residents in our program who have watched way too much Grey's Anatomy and have been using our call rooms to be intimate with each other. Why the call rooms? One of them is married and must have too much "integrity" to use his own place...
Regardless, no one is quite sure what to do to get this to stop. We are tired of having to change all the bedding at 3 a.m. while on call because we aren't sure what may have happened in the bed previously. It is pretty disgusting.
Has anyone else had to deal with this? Should we talk to the program director? And if that doesn't help, who next? The hospital administrator? The ACGME? This needs to stop...
Condom wrapper found in the call room...
Guy bragging to his Ob-Gyn friends that he is "nailing" the hot new Asian intern....
Girl getting left by her fiance. Her friends say it is cause he caught another man in their apartment...
Wife of one of the guy Chris calling the residents asking why he is recieving a lot of private pages from the girl.... (And the wife is so nice. She has brought their little kids out a lot to the barbecues. The people who she called all deferred to others. No one has the heart to tell her that her husband is scum.)
So yeah, pretty sure overall. Not good friends with either of them and haven't confronted either, but a lot of suspect evidence. All I know is that we sign a contract here saying we will adhere to the rules of the Church that runs our hospital...pretty sure those rules might include no sex in the bed that other people have to crawl into at 4 a.m.
Sounds like people are pretty split on this board, just like in our program. I turned to the board because I figured that others may have had to deal with this rather uncomfortable situation before. Not really my busines, but it is affecting resident morale and I do have to sleep in those beds. So stressed out about all of this....I'll probably drop an anonymous note to the Chief Resident. That is what you get for being ambitious and running for Chief. Like they are going to know how to handle it....Oy vei.
BTW. On Call tonight, already grabbed an extra sheet and put it in my bag. Thanks for all the advice.
I know this doesn't exactly relate to the moral issues of this post or answer the question about what you should do, but an interesting thing just happened at the hospital I moonlight in down the road here in Santa Monica, and illustrates what you SHOULDN'T do if you want to keep your job.
A PA and LVN were just fired after being found "necking" in one of the call rooms. All clothes still on (from the grapevine), but hospital administration found it unacceptable. So regardless of they may think about the morals of these two residents or about extramarital affairs, it seems that hospital admin is definitely opposed to anything other than sleep going on in the sleep rooms.
Just something to think about if people get any ideas. I'd hate to lose a job or a residency positition for something stupid like this.
Just my two cents,
EJ
One of my attending taught me that the call room is valid turf.

The webcam thing is probably not legal and you'll get sued. But if you record it for personal use.....sicko.
How about you just get them some nice Bath and Body Works Vanilla or Coconut Lime and have them move their activity to the shower.
2 people screwing in a call room is none of your business, as long as they are returning their pages. And not leaving a mess... don't you have housekeeping at this hospital?
Can't you get them more adventurous? The roof, empty hospital room, an OR, etc.
