I have a few interviews coming up and wanted to know if anyone brought a resume to their interviews? Is it necessary to bring one? Since most interviews are open file don't know already know about you so wouldn't it be excessive to bring it?

Don't bring anything.

When I interviewed with KSU I brought a copy of my AACPMAS application for my reference in case they asked specific question and two copies of my next semesters schedule (one for me, one for the interviewer). I brought all of that in a portfolio that had a notepad in it for taking notes. I wrote down one thing all day and gave the interviewer a copy of next semesters schedule. In my opinion it was not so much needing to bring it as it was looking professional and prepared. Only about half of the other interviewees brought a portfolio with them. I am not sure how the interview went for them but I got accepted. So I guess it wasn't a bad thing. It is up to you really, but can't hurt. Good luck!

All you need is a pen. They'll give you materials to write on, and if it's open file they will have everything in front of them during the interview. Good luck!

if you bring a flask, be careful to be discreet about it. :naughty:

I was actually a groomsmen for a wedding last weekend and have a flask filled with Johnny Walker ready to go. 😉

Hope it was JW Blue, that makes any occasion better.
Anyway I bring a pad folio (those zipper leather bound folder)
I have a few CVs (in general you always want to have a CV ready to go) AACPMAS copy and a notepad. Obviously use the notepad as much as you can as said it helps with making decision, follow up questions or I even have questions written down for interviewers. It also has the spots for business cards so I am easily reminded to write thank you letters as a follow up.
Back on point I have never actually been asked for a copy of anything at an interview, I just keep a CV on hand always for 2 reasons. 1. it is something you should just always do, one should be able to produce a current resume virtually on the spot. 2 you never know who might interview you. At Scholl 2 interviewers called off the morning of the interview, so the people who actually interviewed might not have seen my file much. While I was not asked to produce a CV the peace of mind having it was well worth the 5 cents to print them.

Oh no it's black. I went to my interview today with no folio, but will probably go out and get one for my interview on Friday. Along with my flask.:laugh:
