Retake Done! Any advice?

I just retook my DAT this week.

New Scores (Sept):
PAT 19
QR 16
BIO 22
GC 19
ORGO 22
RC 20
TS 21
AA 20

Old Scores (June):
PAT 16
QR 13
BIO 21
GC 18
ORGO 20
RC 21
TS 20
AA 19

Do you think the improvement is good enough for PAT and QR?
My GPA is 3.7 and science is 3.33. I applied to 7 schools and am thinking about adding 3 more. What do you guys think my chances are? Thanks for any input, it's really appreciated! 🙂

Great job! Glad to see your efforts paid off. I think you'll be ok, just avoid schools with cutoffs for QR.

As to whether it's good enough, it depends which schools your applying to, but it should be ok

I'm applying to NYU, Temple, Michigan, Detroit Mercy, Boston, Minnesota, and Marquette

and plan on adding Tufts, Case and Pitt

I was wondering how much more you had to study b/c im wondering whether or not I should retake my DATs but I REALLY dont want to study anymore.

After I took the DAT the first time I took a break for about 2 months. I was really dreading studying again. So I basically only studied for a month before I took it the second time. It was definitely not as painful the second time around, because it felt more like reviewing. This time I focused a lot more on PAT (got CDP) and qr. For the sciences I used destroyer the second time around. I only used Kaplan the first time.

If you applied early I think you should be alright. Nice improvements by the way, 2 points might not sound like a lot but it definitely makes the world of a difference! I wouldn't worry so much about your QR, but you PAT is definitely a solid score, and nice TS and AA. Best of luck.

Also, how did you study differently this time than your first time around? I think that might help other SDNers taking for the first time or retaking.
What sources did you use? CDP, Kaplan, Destroyer, Cliffs??

Thanks gentile! I applied way back in June.

The first time I took the DAT I had taken the kaplan course, and I only used the Kaplan white book and the workshops and quizzes that come with the class. I felt like I had done alright just using the Kaplan materials besides for QR and PAT. I just didn't take QR too seriously, but Kaplan was definitely not enough for PAT. I studied for about 1 month and 2 weeks.

The second time around I used the Kaplan materials again but added CDP, Cliffs, and Destroyer. I got the 5 tests for CDP and was getting 19-20s on the tests. I read all of cliffs once. I didn't get through all of destroyer, ran out of time but having those extra problems was great esp for bio and orgo. I studied for about a month the second time. I think doing practice problems is key so you are constantly checking your knowledge.
