  1. Pre-Pharmacy

Hi, I got rejected by 2 pharmacy school already and still haven't heard from the 3rd. I'm deciding on whether to retake all the classes I got a C in or to do a Master's degree in my home country for a year. Does anyone have any suggestion?
Here's my stats:
3.04 overall GPA, 2.68 pre-req (Bio classes GPA: 1.94)
PCAT 89 percentile
working experience: 1 summer at pharmacy, 1 summer organic chemistry research, 2 summers at dental clinic, 1 summer volunteering at elderly home
Also, I'm an international student. I'll be graduating from a university in california with Biochemistry major this May.
I believe that alot of factors added to my rejection. 1. Low GPA, 2. not enough work experience, 3. international student, 4. i submitted my application right before the deadline.
I'm planning to do extra research and volunteer work. But I don't know which would save my GPA. Should I retake all my C classes? Should I do a masters in medical sciences?
Please help me. I'm open to any suggestion. Thanks alot!

Your pre-req GPA is what is killing you. Why would a pharmacy school want a student who did so poorly in the classes that are suppose to prepare you for pharmacy school? Have things changed since you took those classes? Did you just have a bad freshman year and have done much better since then? Are you confident you can do better the second time? If you did that poorly in undergrad, what makes you feel you can do better in a Master's program?

Your PCAT is good, so it shows you either test very well or you know the material. The two schools that rejected you, did you at least get an interview? Speak to them and ask in what ways they think you can improve your application. Research and volunteering will definitely help. Shore up three solid letters of recommendation. Work on your interviewing skills. Apply to more than 3 schools next year. Your degree and major should be a good bonus.
