Retaking a class - what's the policy?

Hey.
Did bad one my Chem class.
Want to retake it.
What's the deal?
Can I?
And if I do, am I left with the better score (or is my transcript forever going to be stained)?

From what I understand, at your University, the grade will be replaced. However, both grades will be on your transcript. When you apply to dental school and submit your transcript, BOTH grades will be averaged and will be taken into account when your GPA is being figured out.

For example:

I took Gen Chem I twice. Here at Temple, the new grade was replaced with the old. When I apply to Dental School, BOTH grades will be used.

Kinda sucks, but that's the way it is.
