Hi all, I was curious to know would any MD medical school consider a student who has retaken 5+ classes from early in their undergrad classes? All advisers say don’t retake more than 3 but is it really impossible to be seen as a good candidate if it’s more? Even if the MCAT score is 514+, has excelled in all upper level science courses, and has a great application besides that one aspect?

All Advisors don't say that.

If you are redeeming a poor academic record, get great, consistent grades in retakes as well as upper-level science, exceed automatic GPA cutoffs, and get a strong MCAT score proving "you got" the material, besides having supportive LORs and relevant activities to share, you can be a viable candidate for MD school consideration despite having more than five retaken classes.

So, retake whatever classes you need to in order to have all prerequisite coursework with a C or better grade, or if you took a class so long ago that you need to remaster the material to do well on the MCAT and can't relearn the material on your own.
