I just finished the end of my first year and I received B's in a few of my classes. I was near the cut-off for b-->a by maybe 5 points or 2% in each of these classes. I have room in my schedule next year to re-take some of these classes. Is it advisable that I do? Or should I just take another class?

Don't retake B's. It will have very little effect in the long run.

B's hurt the gpa a bit, but getting a few won't kill your chances. And getting A's in higher courses can help make up for those B's.

no need to retake B's

Okay thanks! That's very reassuring.
