I have a quick question. I am currently finishing my application on AMCAS and have a set of MCAT scores (I got a 30 overall but an 8 in the PS section so I do need to rewrite). If I submit my application with my current scores and indicate my intent to rewrite on July 30th do I need to tell schools to review my application once again by email, or will they do it automatically?
I am a Canadian student applying so I wanted to submit as early as possible...

Thanks a lot for your time!!

🙂

Your application will not be looked at if you indicate you are taking the MCAT again. They will wait for your new score before making a decision. In other words, your application will not be complete until the first week of September.

If you do NOT indicate you are retaking the MCAT, they will look at your application as it is received. However, you run the risk of being "thrown out" before your new MCAT score is available.

ahh....theres the dilemma then because my score is not great and my application will be late as an international applicant...my GPA is strong and so are my other two sections, but PS really is a thorn in my side, so i'm not sure what to do then :S

hard to comment further without real numbers. undergraduate cGPA, sGPA, graduate GPAs, MCAT score.

Well, i don't know if you want to wait until September for your application to be reviewed. Anyway, remember it becomes a bit more difficult to score higher after you pass the 30 mark unless you are 'that' good. If you score lower, you will be dead meat for sure.

I currently have a 26 MCAT with a 6 PS (yeah, I know that's bad), and I am retaking in August. So, what you are saying is that they won't even look at my app until the score is posted Sep 5? That puts me out of the running for an October interview. This whole process just keeps getting worse........
