I did not do as well as I had hoped to on the 7/30 MCAT and will be retaking on September 12th. I indicated this on my primary application. Do I need to inform all the schools I applied to that I am retaking or will they know from my amcas app.? I already received an email from Morehouse saying that I was complete. I really don't want any schools to consider my application with my current MCAT. Any quick feedback would be greatly appreciated.

If you noted that you will be retaking MCATs, you will be fine. They will receive your app and just place it on hold until that second MCAT score comes through.

whats happen if you didn't mark it down on your primary app (bc you thought you would never have to retake)? Do you just call every school you are applying to and tell them to put your application back on hold?

That's kind of what I'm asking b/c I just made the change to my primary today. I did not think I would be retaking. Not sure if the schools are notified of this. Some of the schools explicitly ask you to notify them via email if you plan on retaking. I have already emailed a few schools.

Schools download updated information from AMCAS every day. So if you have marked on your AMCAS you are retaking, most schools will hold your application until they receive your new score. No need to email every school letting them know you are retaking. That is just redundant.

That may be true but I've already received a rejection from one school and many complete emails from other schools. The schools that I have emailed have thanked me for notifying them.
