If I choose to sign up and retake the new MCAT this spring, will schools that I am currently waitlisted at be alerted that I have signed up for a new exam?

I am considering retaking the MCAT for next cycle. But, I want to make sure retaking the exam will not somehow void/hurt my candidacy for the schools I have been waitlisted at this cycle.

Thanks for your time.

You application will automatically update with the new score but your intention to re-take will not.

Thank you for the quick response! So my understanding is that schools won't know my score until they are officially released in June? If so, if I hypothetically got off the waitlist in May, and then received an undesirable MCAT retake score in June, could the school that accepted me then retract their acceptance based on the new score?

Lastly, I know you said my application will automatically update with my new score and my intention to retake is hidden... But if I take the exam and choose to have it scored will schools then know a score is pending?

Your score will update automatically but there is no notice given to alert us that a new score has posted. I suppose it is possible that a much lower score could be cause to rescind if the school has you sign a contract on admission that you must maintain your current level of academic success to keep your seat.

Thank you!

will retaking the MCAT and improving your score (percentile wise) help your chances to get off waitlists for this cycle? should we be notifying our waitlisted schools that we intend on retaking (if we feel that it is our MCAT that likely held us from being accepted in the first place)?
