When I retake an exam does it lose all score prediction value? Even if I don't memorize the specific question but recall exactly how to do the problem to myself?

I think as long as you know how to do it, it's alright. If you were to change the numbers and you still knew how to do it, that's good. Just have to learn from mistakes.

I agree with gn4. Whenever I re-take an old practice exam, I pick the answers I pick because I KNOW the material, not because I just memorized the answers. If it helps, you should probably re-take the exam about 2-3 days after going over all the answers to avoid choosing simply from memory.

I retook all of the Topscore exams a few days after my first go through. Yes, I memorized answers or knew what most of them should be, but it's still good practice in my opinion, especially for the ones you got wrong initially. The second time through I almost got perfect scores in every section, so I wouldn't say it's very representative at all, but it's good review.

Whoever said practice exams had score prediction value in the first place? 🙄

I always do WAY worse on practice exams than on real tests. I see lots of other people on this site who do better on their real exam than on practice tests. Your brain goes into testing mode for the real DAT.

If you must do practice exams (and I don't recommend them, along with a few other high-scorers), just view them as learning tools--not score predictors.
