For anyone who had taken the DAT more then once, is there any suggestions on how to study for it again and review the material the right way without wasting time and what not?
Personally for me its very had to get back into it. I took a break after the 1st time and i cant seem to make myself study it over again.

I would love some feed back.
Thanks!

I don't think anyone wants to tell you the secrets to getting high scores, or else everyone would be doing great on the DAT. There are little secrets and tips and strategies that can get you a high score. The trick is to find those out somehow. I wish I knew too before I took my first exam. I would've gotten higher scores and gotten in any school of my choice with my near 4.0 GPA. Instead, I got average DAT scores and got two acceptances so far.

In the DAT section, a lot of people tell you exactly how you can get a high score in their breakdown. While there are some people who are stingy, most people on sdn are helpful and post great advice.

i took the DAT twice...and let me tell you, i was really sad after my first try! i was actually in denial that i could have done so badly and i requested an audit of my scores, but it was what it was.
after a 2 month long break, i got back to studying. what i realized after my first attempt that the most important thing for the sciences is to get your basics down. even if you feel that you have the basics down, you probably don't. i must have read the Barron's AP Biology about 5 times cover to cover to make sure i knew every little thing. As for gchem and ochem, you need to make sure you have the all the basics down - go thru the Kaplan BB if you have it and then do as many practice problems as you can. i have a whole bunch of kaplan practice tests for the sciences, PM me if you want these.
As for PAT and QR, its all about practice practice practice. keep doing as many problems as you can get your hands on before it becomes sort of second nature. I don't know what to say about RC - i never really practiced or did anything for this section. I know how to read? I mean other than that...there's tips and tricks but bottom line is be a quick reader and pick up on the important ideas in the passage. Gluck

hey, i wannabedentist. I'm also thinking about retaking DAT. I would be very appreciated if you could send me a bunch of kaplan practice tests,,,i don't know how to PM you. my email address is [email protected]
Thanks.

if anyone else wants them, please PM me - i don't plan on checking this thread too often.

There isn't really a "right way." Studying methods are different for everyone, and by now you should know your own ways. Check out the DAT section. There's a ton of info there. If you're having trouble with the PAT (or if you just want to see it anyway), find the "wicked sick PAT tutorial" thread or something like that. Ask around, they'll know what you mean. That said, if you haven't already used the following, I recommend it: Kaplan BB, Destroyer, TopScore, and Cliff's AP Bio
